The History of Vilensky Event Music
The Vilensky String Quartet was formed at the Royal Academy of Music in 2002 by four outstanding young string players. For several years they performed regularly together at concert venues, in London and the South East. The Vilensky String Quartet performed in competitions on a national level and in masterclasses with world-class string quartet players including members of the Wihan and Alberni Quartets. The Quartet also performed works composed for them by leading contemporary composers. While performing with the group, members of the Vilensky String Quartet were also establishing themselves as leading orchestral players of their field, playing with the BBC Concert Orchestra, the City of London Sinfonia and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
During its five years on the concert platform, the Vilensky String Quartet also became specialists in performing at special events of many kinds. They have become increasingly in demand at corporate events and weddings for their highly professional and engaging performances. As a result of this, the Vilensky String Quartet has expanded into an exceptional group of young professional players, taking on its new identity of Vilensky Event Music.
